このプロファイルはユーザは直接適用するものではなく、JP_MedicationRequestとJP_MedicationRequestInjectionの共通の親となる抽象プロファイルである。MedicationRequestリソースに対して、内服・外用薬剤処方、注射・点滴などのデータを送受信するため、JP_MedicationRequestとJP_MedicationRequestInjectionの各プロファイルの基礎となる制約と拡張のうち共通部分を定めている。
